Fillpot
I come from a multicultural family - my father being from California, and my mother being from Chile (5100 miles of "west coast!"). I grew up in the East Bay of the San Francisco Bay Area in a Christian home. From as young as I can remember, I have always known and have had a relationship with Jesus Christ. Some of my most intimate relational experiences with Jesus have

I am also a classically trained vocalist and pianist, having studied classical voice throughout high school and college, as well as piano throughout my childhood and throughout college. I am a teacher of both piano and voice, having students who range from as young as 3 years old through adulthood. I have been teaching in Silicon Valley since 2015, and love to teach almost as much as I love to worship. As of 2020, I have been able to teach online from anywhere there is an internet connection, which also means that I have had the gift of being able to teach students anywhere!
As someone who is both called to worship and skilled in teaching, I have found a passion and desire to reach out to other worship leaders and team members to help them enhance and nurture their own gifts and callings through teaching and coaching from my own knowledge and experience. Group workshops and private lessons for worship vocalists are now a top focus and priority within my own teaching calendar. Lessons are primarily focused on strengthening vocal skills for the purpose of vocally leading worship, though Biblically-based wisdom is also shared within the context of what the group or individual student is focusing on.
My passion for worship goes beyond what people experience on a Sunday morning. I believe that worship is an attitude of how we live our life, and that the act of worshipping God should be woven throughout daily life, whether we are in a moment of living through blessed, joyful times, or we are in living in a valley of hardships and personal difficulties. Musical worship is an expression of overflowing love, trust, faith, praise, and gratitude for what God has done and continues to do in our lives everyday. As I strive to live this out as a working mother and wife, I am daily challenged and edified with living a life of worship.
In Christ's Love,
Valerie Fillpot
